For the abdomen reconstruction, first is carried out the extraction of fat and excess skin, and then it is practiced the called plication of the rectus muscles.
This procedure consists of tightening the abdominal muscles that have been distended after pregnancy (or other causes). Then, superimpose again the skin that remains and it gets tightened on the corrected abdomen, and it is performed a circular incision on the inner belly button to create a “new” skin belly button.
The scar is at the height of the pubis. In this way, a harder and firmer abdominal wall and a slimmer waist are achieved..
It also exists the mini-abdominoplasty which removes the excess of skin of the lower part of the abdomen, only making a horizontal cut on top of the pelvis.
The surgery lasts between 2 and 3 hours, it is performed using general anesthesia and it takes 1 or 2 nights in hospital.
